While we were boondocking outside Moab, Utah, we did a bunch of hiking, and this was one of the most unique hikes. It requires a permit, but in the off-season, it was easy to get one. So, we applied, sat thru the training session, and set off with permit in hand.

We started early so we could catch sunrise in the maze that is the Fiery Furnace. I say maze, because it really is a maze - we were on and off the main trail all day long, taking many side trips and detours. Some of them went thru some pretty narrow and required a bit of bouldering. Don't worry, it's a choose your own adventure type of place, and the more strenuous routes aren't required.

We would definitely recommend giving this hike a try if you're in the area!
