In this video, we install a second Victon Multiplus inverter and associated hardware, upgrade our battery bank, and we finally get rid of the AM Solar Smart Phase Selector. We also do a short overview of the current install.
The Smart Phase Selector was intended to apply power to the entire RV's electrical grid before there was a Victron Multiplus II capable of powering both legs of a 50 amp RV. While it did it's job, it had some flaws and limitations.
Instead of swapping out our original Multiplus for a Multiplus II, we decided to add another Multiplus and double our available power and provide some redundancy, should one break. It would require some re-wiring, but there is redundancy with our current setup.
We also got rid of our expensive Battleborn Battery bank, as it was giving us problems on a regular basis. This is discussed in more detail in the video.
