First solo hike in Switzerland and it was an amazing experience. The Rigi Kulm to Rigi Scheidegg trail was fairly easy to hike. With well-maintained trails, picnic areas, directional sign posts, and easy accessibility, this trail is perfect for families and novice hikers (like me) who want to get into hiking in the Swiss Alps!

How I got there from Zürich HB: I took the train to Arth-Goldau, then the cogwheel train (Rigi Bahnen) up to the final station at Rigi Kulm. Then I started my hike from there!

Once my hike ended at Rigi Scheidegg, I took the cable car down to Kräbel, then took the cogwheel train back to Arth-Goldau and then the train back to Zürich HB.

If you have an SBB Day Pass/Tageskarte or a GA travel card, then the entire journey to and from Mount Rigi is fully covered. This is one of the few mountain excursions that doesn't require you to pay extra for the cogwheel train or cable car.

📍: Rigi-Kulm to Rigi-Scheidegg
🥾: 9.37 km
⌚: 1hr54 min
🏔️: 212 m elevation gain
