Join me on my solo hike to the Creux du Van, also known as Switzerland's "Grand Canyon"! The Creux du Van is a formidable rock cirque located in the canton of Neuchâtel, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. This gigantic rock amphitheater with a diameter of 1,400 meters was formed over the course of millions of years by glaciers and water.

The hike started right at Noiraigue train station, where I immediately felt the gradual and slow increase of elevation. There was a brief moment of flat reprise when I reached "Les Oeillons", but then the elevation resumed soon after I started ascending the "Sentier de 14 Virages" (or "Contours"), which were a series of 14 hairpin bends that truly tested my stamina. You'll definitely hear my heavy breathing in this video!

After eating my lunch by the cliffs, I walked around for a bit and then decided to descend down on the other side. Be careful, the descent down on this side was also quite steep and rocky!

There is also the option to drive and park your car a few hundred meters from the cliffs if you don't wish to do all the climbing but still want to enjoy the views. I'm not sure where the exact location of parking would be.

Start and end of hike: Noiraigue train station

My hiking stats:
→ 12.84 km, ↑ 739m, moving time: 3hr 7m

I hope you enjoyed this video and I'll see you on the next hike!
