As part of our recent 4-day adventure in Grindelwald, we did the Eiger trail first to get us motivated for some more hiking! This impressive, panoramic trail took us underneath the north face of the Eiger mountain and presented us with breathtaking views of the Grindelwald valley and surrounding mountain peaks. It is a safe, rocky mountain trail that mostly goes downhill. Not at all technical or difficult, so very suitable for casual hikers and children. The trail is also easy to follow and very well-marked with bright yellow signs.

The hiking trail begins at the Eigergletscher (Eiger Glacier Gondola Station) and we decided to do a longer version of the trail where instead of forking off to Alpiglen (where there is an option to take the train to Kleine Scheidegg, Lauterbrunnen, or Grindelwald), we continued along the right, which took us through a forest path that descended all the way back down to Grindelwald.
