Great hike with beautiful panorama Alp views throughout the entire trail. It is possible to do the hike in either direction, and in case you happen to have the Swiss public transport day pass (or annual pass) it works on both the train and the gondola.

Starting point is at the Arth Goldau train station where you will hop on the Rigi mountain train. Take the train all the way up to Rigi Kulm. Once at the top, you can take in the beautiful 360 degree ivews from the top of the mountain. Once you start your hike, start following the hiking signs with the following destinations:
Rigi Kulm - Rigi Staffel - Rigi Staffelhöhe - Rigi First - Find the sign for the Felsenweg, which will take you to the cliff walk - after the cliff walk continue following the signs to Rigi Scheidegg.

There are a couple places where you can choose to go up on the ridge or continue on the road. I highly recommend choosing the ridge paths. There are less people and the up hill sections are not very long and the views make it worth the extra effort.

In bad weather, the cliff walk section might be closed. In that case, just follow the signs to Rigi Scheidegg, which will take you on a road on the opposite side of the cliffs.
