Mafra é uma Vila e sede de um concelho no distrito de Lisboa, Portugal. O concelho de Mafra é limitado, pelos concelhos de Torres Vedras, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Arruda dos Vinhos, Loures, Sintra e tem litoral no oceano Atlântico. Em 1513 o Rei D. Manuel concedeu Foral Novo a Mafra. Em 1717, o Rei D. João V lança a primeira pedra da construção do Palácio. De 1848 a 1859, e de 1870 a 1873 o Convento alberga o Real Colégio Militar. Desde 1993 é o Centro Militar de Educação Física e Desportos.

Mafra is a town and seat of a municipality in the district of Lisbon, Portugal. The municipality of Mafra is limited by the municipalities of Torres Vedras, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Arruda dos Vinhos, Loures, Sintra and has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean. In 1513 King D. Manuel granted New Charter to Mafra. In 1717, King D. João V laid the first stone for the construction of the Palace. From 1848 to 1859, and from 1870 to 1873, the Convent housed the Royal Military College. Since 1993 it has been the Military Center for Physical Education and Sports.
