This afternoon, Gabby flew into the nest with vocals and then she flew off, circled around and landed on the wallenda branch. Beau flew in right after her. They exchanged greeting vocals - but Gabby was not very welcoming and nips at Beau. He didn't like it and flew to the LOP. Both eagles will fly off.

Gabby returns at dusk to the nest alone and she stays for a few minutes looking around. Was she looking for Beau? She then flies to LOP and then off for the night. Hopefully they both ended up roosting together.

Nipping, beaking, pecking, vocals, footing, body bumps etc are all part of the courtship/bonding behavior the eagles display. It may look unfriendly to us, but it has a different meaning for the eagles.

Last year Gabby was nippy to Beau as well but they got into a groove with nestorations which is a prelude to bonding, Hopefully we will see them find their groove again! Gabby is a very headstrong female! Thank you for watching!
