Heavy rains lashed Noney district of Manipur early on October 1 morning. Areas such as Longmai Bazaar, Longmai town and the nearby areas were among the worst hit causing hindrance in the day to day functioning of the people living in these areas. Power failures also followed suit as a result of the heavy downpour. A landslide also occurred at Awangkhul landslide point, an area between Awangkhul and Langkhong, along the National Highway 37.
As per weather forecast, it is reported that the weather in this hill district will deteriorate in the days to come with temperatures varying between 26°C and 33°C.
