Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati visited Sikkim on Wednesday as part of the ongoing "Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra". During his stop at Thakurbari Mandir in Gangtok, he voiced his disappointment over being denied entry into Nagaland by the state government.

In his address, he stated, "I have not spoken ill of anyone. All I ask is the opportunity to travel and share my message with the people. Why should I be stopped? The Nagaland government held a cabinet meeting and decided that I cannot enter. Why should I be stopped? I am not here to spread hate. I am here to share love and wisdom. I want to speak to the people about the sacredness of cows, and they must listen".

He urged the Chief Ministers of all Northeastern states not to obstruct his Yatra. "I request all leaders in the Northeast not to stop me. I am not blaming anyone or accusing anyone. I am simply sharing the message of Sanatan Dharma. Our country is a democracy, and Sanatan Dharma forms the majority. Therefore, we should be allowed to speak freely," said the Swami

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said, "If I am not allowed to speak about the cow, then you might as well shoot me. I cannot stand by and watch the slaughter of cows. Gau Mata is not just an animal, she holds a sacred place in our hearts and culture. Our duty is to respect and protect her," he stated.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand emphasised the significance of cow protection, a core principle of Sanatan Dharma, the sacredness of cows in Indian tradition, urging communities across the country to respect and protect them.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati clarified that the reverence for cows transcends mere biological connections. “The cow is our mother not because she gives us milk, but because we have dedicated ourselves to her protection and respect. She symbolises life and sustenance in Sanatan Dharma."

He further elaborated, dispelling common misconceptions, "Some say the cow is our mother because she gives us milk. If that were true, we would consider other animals like buffalo or goat as our mother too. But it is the dedication and love we give to the cow that makes her our mother. We pray to the cow because she represents the soul and the sacredness of life."

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati also highlighted the spiritual and religious significance of the cow in Indian scriptures. "The cow is revered in our Vedas and Shastras. It is said that there is nothing more divine than the cow. Yet today, cow meat is sold and consumed, a practice that is not only inhumane but also against our cultural values. Selling cow meat abroad to fund our economy is disgraceful," he remarked.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati called for the continuation of the Gau Pratishtha Andolan, a movement to protect and honor the sanctity of cows.

He emphasised that all four Shankaracharyas, including himself, have endorsed this movement. He strongly condemned the slaughter of cows and encouraged a national dialogue to preserve the cow as a symbol of Indian spirituality.

The Swami also hailed Sikkim Krantikari Morcha's political strategy, drawing parallel with Sanatan Dharma approach. Calling their victory in all state assembly seats historic, he highlighted how SKM, despite holding full majority and a Rajya Sabha seat, chose to offer the seat to a BJP candidate to maintain strong ties with the ruling party at the Centre.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand emphasised that such sacrifices are wise for long-term relationships, drawing a parallel with Sanatan Dharma’s approach of fostering unity through dialogue, even when faced with challenges like opposition from Nagaland on religious matters.

The "Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra" is a movement designed to inspire spiritual awakening and unity among diverse communities across the country. The mission highlights the significance of protecting and promoting ancient Indian philosophies, especially in the context of Sanatan Dharma

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati called for temples to be managed by religious leaders rather than government authorities, citing a recent scandal in Tirupati where beef ingredients were allegedly found in the sacred "ladoo" offering. He expressed that incidents like these highlight the importance of spiritual leadership in preserving the sanctity of religious practices.
