Laos 🇱🇦a landlocked country in South East Asia, on the banks of Mekong River, the "mother of waters".

Running through six different countries, Mekong Rover it is a source of food and income for about sixty million people throughout Asia. It is the longest river in Southeast Asia and one of the longest rivers in the world, flowing from Tibet where it collects melting snow from the Himalayas, through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It flows for more than 4,000 kilometers, in one of the most fertile regions in the world.

It is the principal highway of connection, communication and commerce for Laos. This river supports the economy of Laos people, through fishing and plantations, specially rice.

I have visited 6 places:
Luang Prabang
Vang Vieng
Vientiane
Thakhek
Pakse
Don Deet (4.000 islands)

My favourite was Vang Vieng due to his breathtaking views of huge mountains and Nam Song River. You can find different yoga videos recorded there in the channel.

I loved Don Deet as well, a little Island in the 4.000 Islands region, south of Laos. Here you can see how is to live in one island, using the water of this River for everything : bath, wash your clothes, your entire life. You can see how difficult it’s to live fare away and need to buy almost everything from the big vity, 2hours from the island.

A curiosity about Laos: every-time you book a bus or a train, it’s always included a pickup from your hotel to the train/bus station. I never saw this in any other country in the world. So it makes easier to travel around. The north of the country and the capital is connected by fast train (that actually comes from China and was built by chineses).

So even if it’s not such a touristic country comparing with his neighbors (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China and Myanmar) it’s always nice to visit and see a unique culture in this side of the world.
