Hi everyone, today I am here with a recipe of green gram Laddu..

To make this, first wash 1 cup of green gram until clean and then transfer it onto a kitchen towel or a cloth and wipe off the excess water from the green gram and get it as dry as possible.

After the green room has been washed, transfer it into the mediums of a mixer grinder and grind it into a fine powder and then transfer it into a mixing bowl.

Into the same mixing bowl, add two handfuls of grated coconut, two pinches of salt and some cardamom powder to taste and mix everything really well.
After you have mixed everything, add 1 cup of water and mix to get a mixture and then leave it to rest for around five minutes so that it can thicken up a bit.

After around five minutes, if the mixture seems too thick, you can add a little more water and adjust the consistency like an Idli batter.

Once the batter is ready, transfer it into Idly moulds and let it cook in the steam in an idly maker.

While it is being cooked, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a pan and roast a few raisins and a few pistachios and then add half a cup of Rava and roast well in the oil.
If your rava has been already roasted, you can roast it for very less time just to make it fresh.

When the rava starts to heat up, add a tablespoon of sugar and mix well again..
next, add 3/4 cup of boiling hot water and immediately cover it with a lid and let it cook for around five minutes on the lowest flame possible.

While the rava is being cooked, check on the better that has been steaming in the Idli maker and when it’s done, take it out from the mould and let it cool down completely.
Once it cools down, transfer it into the medium jar of a mixer grinder and gently crush it to powder it.
Make sure to do this only after it has completely cooled down, else it will turn into a big lump in the mixer grinder..
If any big chunks remain afterwards, you can crush them with your hands gently and set it aside.

Next, prepare some sugar syrup by adding a cup of sugar and a cup of water in a pan and then bringing it to boil..
Keep cooking the syrup until it starts to thicken up and forms a one string consistency.
When the syrup has reached this consistency, empty the crushed green gram mixture into the sugar syrup and then add the cooked Rava as well and give everything a good mix.

After mixing well, roll it into smooth balls and serve!!

I am adding organic green food colour to a small batch for presentation and photography purposes, do not add when you’re making this at home.. :)
