Former first minister of Scotland Lord McConnell paid tribute to the late Alex Salmond who has died aged 69.

Mr Salmond, who was also previously the first minister of Scotland, led the Scottish National Party between 1990 and 2000 and then again between 2004 and 2014, he was a prominent figure in the country's nationalist movement.
