This is the sixth video in the series on central Moreton Bay. In the last episode we covered the western end of the Rous channel and in this episode, we are going to continue through to Days Gutter and around to the Blue Hole.

Days Gutter is a very good anchorage and an excellent stop over for a day trip. The Blue Hole is around the top end of Crab island and is also quite a good anchorage, depending on wind direction and tide. In the past the Blue Hole was justifiably famous as a fishing spot, mainly for whiting. I haven’t fished there for many years, but I have heard from several people that the Sand Hills further north produce a feed more consistently. I will discuss that area when I do the series on the Northern Bay.

This ended up being a shorter video than pervious ones because I had planned a trip to provide some live footage to mix in with it, but the weather had other plans. I still plan to do the trip and I may even be on the water by the time you see this. When ever it happens, I will put it up as a short addendum to this episode.

As usual, after finishing the video I thought of some things that I didn’t mention. One of the most important ones is that the Moreton Banks are a green zone so just be aware of that and familiarise yourself with the extents of the zone.

I hope you enjoy.
