In this Chemistry video in Hindi for class 11 and class 9 we explained molecular mass and formula mass of a compound. When a compound has distinct molecules, the mass of one molecule, which is the sum of the atomic masses of the constituent atoms, is known as the molecular mass of that compound. Whereas, in some cases the compound does not have any distinct molecule, but the ions create a crystal, as in case of sodium chloride. In those cases we add up the atomic masses according to the chemical formula of that compound. This mass is called the formula mass of that compound.
