3-day backpack trip on the Pacific Crest Trail. Having finished hiking Sections A & B in 2022, we set out to start Section C, I-10 Freeway Underpass & “Hiker Oasis” to Big Bear. This strenuous hike took us through the Whitewater Preserve, fording the rapid flowing and thigh-deep Whitewater River, up Mission Creek which we crossed over 20 times to Mission Springs Trail Camp at nearly 8,000’. On the 3rd day we covered the final 12 miles exploring the Coon Creek Cabin Campground and run-down buildings finishing up at PCT Mile 252 where we had left our car 3 days earlier. 3-day total of 43 miles with over 10,000’ of gain. This leaves us 90 miles to complete Section C to the I-15 at Cajon Pass. Trail Angel Kevin – (949) 922-3936
