Dear all,

Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates this new year! Wishing you good health, abundant joy and many dreams come true in the year of Ox.

In this video, I am going to make a dessert for Chinese new year. It is the jelly made from Chinese herbs, which are goji berries, red dates and osmanthus flower (枸杞桂花红枣糕)

It is not necessarily a traditional Chinese new year dessert. Yet, it is very refreshing, light and not too sweet. So, it is perfect after heavy meals. The red and gold colours in this jelly also represent happiness, courage, success and prosperity! Ideal for Lunar new year celebration.

And with the Chinese herbs, you have some ‘health benefits’ too! What more to ask for in a dessert! It almost tastes like herbal tea in the jelly form! Of course, you can serve this on any occasions!

Following is the recipe:

Goji berries 9g

Osmanthus 3g
Hot water 150ml

Red dates 9 pieces
Water 200ml
Sugar 60-80g

Gelatin 25g
(mix with 80ml water)
Cold iced water 170ml

(Note: Total 600ml water)

Enjoy!

Love,
Shirley
