Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Srirangapuram.
Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple is located at Srirangapur in Wanaparthy District. Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple was earlier was part of erstwhile Mahabub Nagar district. This temple site about to 24 km from Wanaparthy and 12 km away from pebbair, One may reach this temple from Kurnool which is 65 km away from the temple and mahabubNagar is about 80km away from the temple.
This temple has tremendous history of 550 years old. It was built by the ruler of princely state( samsthaanam) of Wanaparthy King Raja Rameshwara Rao. It was said that Raja Rameshwara Rao often visited Srirangam and admired by Sri Ranganayaka Swamy temple in Tamil Nadu. Then he desired to construct the same temple in his Samsthaanam. Later, Ranganayaka Swamy(Lord Vishnu) appeared in dream and told the king that his idol was lying in a cave near by a village called Sankireddy Pally whis is about 10 km away from his palace and also told him that an eagle would direct him to that place. Lord Vishnu told Raja Rameshwara Rao in his dream to construct a temple for Him. Later He constructed the temple at Korivipaad village, this place named after Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple as Srirangapuram
