My Collection: BIOTITE AKA BLACK MICA

Including examples of Biotite Mica that can be collected on my Tours!

This is a fantastic video; it's the trickster, Biotite AKA Black (or dark coloured) Mica! Biotite is a Mica Mineral and it grows in sheets, pages, or lamellae. Sometimes we might find a nice solid chunk of Biotite Mica, made up of many pages, referred to as a book! I love it! When we're new to the hobby we might see these hunks of silvery, coppery, bronzy metallic-like mineral and think we've found something extra special. How can we tell? More on that in the video. :D
