My Collection: CITRINE OR FAKE?

If you have Citrine specimens and you haven’t heard of “Baked Amethyst” … you can almost bet you have fake Citrine in your collection. Natural Citrine does exist but it is quite rare and expensive. Most of the yellowish orangish stuff we see on the market is actually heat treated Amethyst! Mind. Blown. It’s a sobering but interesting thing to learn. Get all the details and learn how to tell the difference in my video. :)

NOTE: Heated Amethyst (even NATURALLY heated Amethyst) IS NOT CITRINE! Heated Amethyst gets its Yellow-Orange colour from irradiated and heated Iron (usually Hematite & Goethite) impurities in Quartz. NATURAL CITRINE gets its Smoky Yellow or Light Yellow colour from irradiated Aluminum impurities in Quartz. 💎

This is NOT a selling video. This is for rock appreciation and learning. VOLUME UP for info on Citrine! ⚒

Neither my research nor I am perfect. If you have something to add please do so kindly in the comments.
