富岡八幡宮例大祭「深川八幡祭り」
“江戸三大祭り”のひとつに数えられる「富岡八幡宮」の例大祭「深川八幡祭り」。2023年は6年ぶりの本格開催となり、8月11日（金・祝）〜8月15日（火）の期間に行われます。53基の神輿（みこし）が町内を練り歩く「各町神興連合渡御」では、沿道の観衆から神輿の担ぎ手に清めの水が浴びせられ、皆ずぶ濡れになって祭りは大いに盛り上がります。このお祭りは通称“水かけ祭り”とも呼ばれている通り、沿道の観衆から神輿の担ぎ手に清めの水が浴びせられるのが特徴的。
Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine Annual Festival "Fukagawa Hachiman Festival"
The Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is an annual festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, which is counted as one of the three major festivals of Edo. In 2023, it will be held in earnest for the first time in six years, and will be held from August 11 (Friday / holiday) to August 15 (Tuesday). During the "Each Town Shinko Rengo Togyo", in which 53 mikoshi (portable shrines) are paraded through the town, the spectators along the route pour purifying water on the mikoshi carriers, and everyone gets soaked, making the festival very lively.This festival is also known as the "Mizukake Matsuri", and is characterized by the spectators along the road pouring cleansing water on the mikoshi carriers.
