15 Cruise & Travel Tips:

What Up Guys, It’s KK the Krazy Koran and today I want to share 15 Cruise & Travel Tips that will make your voyage more comfortable and enjoyable.

1. Fly into the city or port at least 1 day before your cruise starts. Flights could be delayed or missed so always to have at least a 1 day buffer before your cruise embarkation day to be safe and this also gives you time to enjoy the port you are leaving from
2. Book shore excursions and tours in advance before the cruise, since spots are limited and can sell out
3. Make entertainment reservations for shows in advance if possible since there is limited seating in the show theaters.
4. Always bring warm clothing when traveling. Flights and cruises can be cold with the AC blasting. I always have a sweater or jacket whenever I fly or cruise in my carryon. I think in life it’s always best to be prepared in advance. So I’d rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.
5. Make sure you bring a credit card and with no foreign transactions fees and preferably a travel credit card so you can earn valuable points for free future travel. If you have an iPhone, it’s best to have this card on your apple wallet to easily pay for things in other countries since it adds another layer of security and nobody can use your credit card even if you lose your phone. I also always carry some USD cash wherever I travel since the USD is the world reserve currency so it’s easy to exchange it for the currency of the country you are traveling too
6. Drop off large luggage with porters and keep a small carry on with essentials. When boarding the cruise you should keep your passport, cash, credit cards, medications and swim suit with you in case you want to go swimming on embarkation day since it could take a long time to get your large bag delivered to your stateroom
7. Bring a portable speaker and sleep with a constant background sound on. This helps you sleep deeper without being woken up when there are any small noises. The walls on cruise ships are very thin and I can easily hear my neighbors talking. I also wake up whenever I hear a door shut or hear talking outside my cabin since I’m a super light sleeper. I personally use the White Noise App and there are many sounds you can choose from.
8. Bring the allowed amount of Alcohol or Wine on embarkation day since that’s the only day you will be allowed to bring alcohol on board. Usually it’s 1-2 bottles depending on the cruise line so check the limit for your cruise.
9. Don’t eat at the buffet on embarkation day. It will be super packed and chaotic. Instead, go to the main dining room that’s included with your cruise since it will have a lot less people and be much more enjoyable.
10. Make dining reservations when you get in board for the specialty restaurants. It’s better to have a reservation even if you don’t show up for it. Specialty restaurants reservations won’t be chargeable if you don’t show up.
11. Eat and order more than 1 main dish in the dining room. Food is unlimited not just at the buffett but also in the main dining room unless otherwise stated. So generally, you can order and eat as much as you want. So its fine to order more than one appetizer and main if you like.
12. Put Your Phone in airplane mode! You don’t want to be charged hundreds or thousands of dollars in international data roaming charges by your cell phone carrier
13. Make any special requests to the stateroom attendant on day one. I personally like to have extra pillows and towels so I always request for that on day one. I also ask for a bucket of new ice to be placed in the fridge daily so it lasts longer and I have ice available all day in my room since I like my drinks cold. Another thing I like to do is tip my stateroom attendant in cash up front. I always like to give first in life and it’s a smart strategy that has usually ended up giving me great results in all areas of life.
14. Up pack and put your large suitcases under beds. This will give you more room in your stateroom and make it less cluttered and more organized.
15. Do Laundry on a floor where the suites and elite members are since there are less guests using the washer/dryer and better chance you won’t have to wait in long line to get your laundry done.

I hope these cruise and travel tips will help make your travels more enjoyable and comfortable.
