The Grand Palace & Reclining Buddha are two of the top attractions in Thailand and both are within walking distance from each other. If you travel to Bangkok, these are two must-see attractions.

The Grand Palace was built in 1782 by King Rama I when he moved to Bangkok. It served as the Official Royal Residence of the Kings of Thailand (SIAM) for over 150 years!

It was the center of the government and housed Royal offices and the Thai Court. Although it’s no longer the residence of the Royal Family, it’s one of the most important and popular attractions in Thailand

The Reclining Buddha is within walking distance and ENORMOUS measuring 46 meters long making it one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand. The reclining posture represents the Buddha in his final moments before entering NIRVANA, after achieving enlightenment.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Buddhas doctor was the creator of THAI MASSAGE over 2500 years ago!

The Birthplace Of Thai Massage Was Here At The Temple Of The Reclining Buddha.

It’s also home to Thailands #1 Massage school – Wat Pho Massage School

I highly recommend getting a massage here during your visit. The prices are higher than most other street massage shops, however it’s well worth the money since the therapists are highly trained and professional. A 1 hour Thai Massage here costs 480 Baht which is around $14 USD

Thai Massage is world famous and something I highly recommend you do when travelling to Bangkok. My Top 3 favorite spa chains to get a massage are: Healthland, LEK and Let’s Relax.

What’s your favorite spa in Thailand to get a massage? Let me know in the comments below!
