We start this video in a windstorm fishing the Watts Bar tailrace. The wind proved to be too much, and ran us off early. Yet having caught a yellow perch and a few yellow bass, we decided to head up to the river for opening weekend of trout season. While you can catch and release here during the rest of the year, it's lures only, and our goal was to try and see if the yellow perch had started their run up the river to spawn, fishing bait from the bank. We hadn't intended to target trout, and Dana got things started catching a nice right largemouth bass. But the we did start catching trout as well, and we never turn down a good fishing trip! Mike then hooked into a really nice brown trout! While the yellow perch were a no show, we had a lot of fun on this afternoon, and plan to head back out there soon to check for them again!
