The Sagrada Família in Barcelona Spain was designed by the architectural genius Antoni Gaudí.

The construction of the Sagrada Família began on March 19, 1882 and is still a work in progress today over 140 years later!

Gaudí dedicated the latter part of his life to the project, combining Gothic and Art Nouveau forms in his unique style.

Gaudi envisaged a grand basilica with 18 spires representing the Twelve Apostles, the Virgin Mary, the four Evangelists, and Jesus Christ.

The Sagrada Família has three grand facades: the Nativity Facade, the Passion Facade, and the Glory Facade. Each depicts different aspects of Christ’s life.
