Prospective students at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town are currently sleeping with their belongings in the multipurpose hall.
CPUT says they are walk-ins who have not applied to study or live at the university. The institution says every year thousands of prospective students from other provinces arrive at the university's gates without any application or acceptance to attend the institution.
There are also issues with prospective students at other tertiary institutions. SABC News reporter Corbyn August joins us.
