A new housing policy and strategy for South Africa has been introduced
by the Department of Human Settlements.

It seeks to repeal the Housing Act of 1997, which the department says
is inconsistent and misaligned to sector reforms that have occurred
over the 30 years of implementation.

Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi explains this further.
