✋Hello! Today we will visit the large statue of the reclining Buddha, which is located in the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok. This place is at the top of the list of six temples in Thailand classified as first-class royal temples.

The reclining Buddha was built by King Rama III in 1832, and its image represents the entry into Nirvana and the end of all reincarnations. The reclining Buddha is 46 meters long and 15 meters high and is one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand. The core of the Buddha was made of brick, then covered with plaster and gilded. The Buddha's feet are 4.5 meters long and 3 meters high, decorated with mother of pearl. Each foot is divided into 108 panels on which there are Buddhist symbols of auspiciousness. In the corridor there are 108 bronze bowls depicting Buddha figures. Visitors drop one coin into each bowl as the sound made when a coin is thrown in is said to be the sound of the disappearance of earthly desires. The temple complex, which houses the statue of the reclining Buddha, is located near the royal palace, is considered to have once been Thailand's first university, and is now a center for traditional Thai massage.
