Just pulling apart things as usual.This is the Playstation 3 console 40GB HDD. It was a faulty console suffering the red light of death, basically in short the machine never turns on properly and switches back off.
I repaired it by heating up the main board, renew the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU processor. Then clean up a tonne of dust that was inside the unit.
