In May 2022, it became known that Poland handed Ukraine 18 self-propelled howitzers "Crab" (AHS Crab) of NATO caliber 155 mm. Later, Ukraine ordered several dozen more of these self-propelled guns, which underwent their first baptism of fire in Ukraine.

New Polish self-propelled guns have been being tested for a year now by the military of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Colonel-General Roman Dashkevych. The platoon commander, Nazar, says that the machines "proved themselves reliably."

"In principle, machines are hard-working, we call them immortals: something breaks – someone goes, twists something around, it continues to shoot. That is, it can be repaired in the field," says Nazar.

hromadske journalists visited the positions of gunners working with the Polish self-propelled guns and asked about how they are doing in the conditions of a full-scale war.

The report was created with the support of the "International Journalist Insurance Fund" project.
