The Gold Creek Falls Trail in Golden Ears Provincial Park is a short and easy hike that is perfect for beginners. This trail that is found in one of British Columbia’s BIGGEST parks includes a lot of forestry, rivers, mountains and a stunning waterfall at the end.
Golden Ears Provincial Park houses over 50,000 hectares of forestry and deep green waters hence being one of British Columbia’s Largest Provincial Parks.
The hike starts at the East Canyon Parking lot and follows the Lower Falls Trail. The trail is wide and groomed the entire way to the Gold Creek Falls. It has minimal elevation and is perfect for those seeking an enjoyable and relaxing hike. After hiking for about 15mins, you will get a glimpse of The Gold Creek on your left and make sure to pause along the way to take in the wonderful crystal clear green waters. Continue along the trail until you reach the Gold Creek Lookout with the stunning views of British Columbia’s Allouette Mountain, Edge Peak and Blanshard Needle. The Lower Falls trail winds through a beautiful stretch of forestry before reaching the Gold Creek Falls waterfall. As you begin to make your way uphill and get closer you will start to hear the sounds of the Gold Creek Lower Falls. The views of the falls above can be fantastic, you can see the surrounding mountains and surging downstream. After taking in the view and mist from the falls. Walking to the falls takes about 1 hour each way to the Gold Creek waterfall.
