Camping on a walk-in site can be daunting especially if you're not sure what to expect. For the third episode of our camping series in British Columbia Canada, we decided to camp in a walk-in site for the first time. In today's Canada travel vlog, we'll show you what it's like to camp at one of BC's most popular family-friendly camping destinations, Alice Lake Provincial Park Campground located in Squamish BC.

Alice Lake is surrounded by mountain ranges and dense forests which makes it perfect for camping. Alice Lake Provincial Park is a popular camping area north of Squamish. It's 1 hour away from Vancouver BC with 108 reservable campsites on site, 55 of which have electrical hook-ups. Facilities also include two shower rooms and washroom buildings, day-use picnic tables, an amphitheater, a bike park, and a playground.

The idea of a walk-in campsite is you "walk-in to the site" with all your camping gear and fortunately, our walk-in site is just 10 steps away from the parking lot which makes it very convenient to carry all our gear from the car to our campsite. The walk-in campsite includes your own picnic table, a fire pit, and a good walking distance from the washroom facilities.

Camping at Alice Lake Campground is a family-friendly campground great for the whole family with a variety of activities to choose from including hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and so much more. Canoe, kayak, pedal boat, and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available at the beach. The trail around Alice Lake is a popular one and if you're feeling more adventurous there is the Four Lakes Trail. There are excellent views of the Squamish River and the Tantalus Range from the DeBeck’s Hill Trail too. The day-use area includes three picnic areas, each located by sandy beaches with access to the lake. There are four freshwater lakes that dominate the landscape and make swimming and fishing very enjoyable.
