On Friday 20 September we visited Fransen Farms on the island of Goeree Overflakkee in the south west of the Netherlands. On that day they where busy getting three crops in; onions, sugerbeet and potatoes.

First we have a look at the windrowing of the onions, for this they are using two Fendt 516 vario’s both with Holaras haulm topper en windrow units. The onions are grown on 2.25m beds. After windrowing the onions are left in the field for a couple of days for drying.

Loading is done using a SU-tech double swat loader pulled by a Fendt 724 and transported with a fleet of gigant 28 ton Beco 3 axel trailers. In total Franzen farms runs 8 of these trailers pulled by Fendt 942, 728 and 724 tractors.

Down the road we see contractor Nelisse lifting sugar beet using a 9 row Vervaet Beeteater bunker harvester.

And we finish the video with there brandnew Dewulf Kwatro 4-row potato harvester. The potato’s are stored in 1000kg boxes in cold storage.
