Chanan Singh Dhillon was a soldier in the British Indian Army when he was posted in the North African theater during the second world war. When German tank commander Erwin Rommel attacked, Chanan Singh's unit was surrounded and he had to surrender alongwith his comrades. Then he was handed over to Italians who kept him in a series of prison camps. Then he was onboard SS Loreto which was attacked by a British submarine HMS Unruffled enroute to Italy. He was then kept in a Nazi prison camp in Germany and he survived that camp and ultimately joined the Indian Army. In this video, I tell the story of the soldier Chanan Singh in Hindi.

चानन सिंह ढिल्लों ब्रिटिश भारतीय सेना में एक सैनिक थे, जब वे दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान उत्तरी अफ़्रीकी थिएटर में तैनात थे। जब जर्मन टैंक कमांडर इरविन रोमेल ने हमला किया तो चानन सिंह की टुकड़ी घिर गयी और उन्हें अपने साथियों सहित आत्मसमर्पण करना पड़ा। फिर उसे इटालियंस को सौंप दिया गया जिन्होंने उसे कई जेल शिविरों में रखा। तब वह एसएस लोरेटो पर सवार थे जिस पर इटली के रास्ते में एक ब्रिटिश पनडुब्बी एचएमएस अनरफ़ल्ड ने हमला किया था। फिर उन्हें जर्मनी में नाजी जेल शिविर में रखा गया और वह उस शिविर से बच गए और अंततः भारतीय सेना में शामिल हो गए। इस वीडियो में मैं सैनिक चानन सिंह की कहानी हिंदी में बताऊंगा।
