So began all episodes of the 1990s Cluedo TV series, based on the hugely successful board game.

The series lasted 4 years and was filmed at Arley Hall in Cheshire, though in the series known as Arlington Grange. Built in 1840 for Rowland Edgerton Warburton, one of many generations of Warburton who have owned the estate since the 12th Century.

Used frequently for filming other shows over the last few decades, Arley Hall also features in Peaky Blinders, Something Special (Mr Tumble), and Coronation Street.
