An excellent diatribe from the 1958 Trinidad carnival, wherein the mysterious Lord Protector takes aim at fake foreign "calypso" singers such as Harry Belafonte and The Andrews Sisters who took material from Trinidadian calypsonians and did not give due credit or financial support in return.

The elder calypsonian Patrick "Chinee Patrick" Jones was known to perform as Lord Protector, but I am not sure if this is the same person - compared with recordings of Jones from 1956, the 1958 Lord Protector sounds younger and bolder. I would appreciate any information, if anybody knows!
