There is no question that Gannett Peak, Wyoming's highpoint, was the hardest mountain I've ever climbed. I did this as a three-day backpacking trip from the Green River Lakes trailhead, itself nestled in the Yosemite Valley of Wyoming. I ascended Gannett via the nonstandard Southwest Couloir route, which had no required snow or glacier travel, so I could leave the crampons and ice axe at home. The bushwhacking and boulder hopping was absolutely brutal and I wouldn't take this route ever again, but it is perfect for a late-summer solo excursion. Hope you enjoyed! #mountains #wyoming
