There seem to be very few women in the male dominated recording studio business and film production industry. I've met only a handful of female engineers and producers in studios that I've worked in during my career. The few that I've worked with always seem highly motivated, capable and very good at working with other people. Communication skills are usually quite high and they all have a great understanding of today's recording technology. So why is it that recording studios rarely employee female production staff? Perhaps it is that there is simply a very shallow labor pool to choose from with most women pursuing other careers.

I think that now is actually a really great time for more women to get involved in film production and audio recording. There are so many opportunities for challenging jobs in our global society that constantly craves new media content to enjoy.
