Hello everyone, I apologize for not uploading recently, but wanted to explain that to you so you kind of get the picture of what's been going on. Something that has happened in the last few years is I was hired as a conductor for BNSF and thus spending so much time around trains at work has really kept me from wanting to be around them on my time off. I will definitely try and do a better job going out so this channel doesn't die off.

I decided to dust off the gear this past Saturday and pay a visit the the UP Tucumcari Subdivision, a nearly 200 mile stretch of track running between Dalhart, TX and Vaughn, NM, apart of the former Rock Island Golden State Route that runs between El Paso, TX and Kansas City, KS. My day started before the sun as I drove the 2 hours from my house to Tucumcari, NM the halfway point of the sub. My first train rolled past before the sun rose, so I quickly jumped on US Highway 54 and chased it east to a location known as Romero, TX which is named after Casmiro Romero, the chief of the Pastores, who moved to the area in 1878. A historical marker is present at the location where I caught this massive eastbound manifest, that only has about 30 more miles on its run to Dalhart.

While I was getting ahead of this train, I had seen a westbound taking the siding at Obar, NM about 30 miles west of me to meet this train, so after the eastbound cleared, I took off west in an attempt to catch up to the westbound. Unfortunately I somehow got around them and my next eastbound in the Tucumcari area, and not realizing it, I pressed on to Santa Rosa, NM. I found a neat location on the east side of town, but after sitting there for 45 minutes and nothing to show for it, I relocated to the first sidng east of Santa Rosa called Los Tanos, and found the westbound sitting in the siding. I set up on the east end of the siding as I was unsure I would be able to get to the west end of the siding to catch the eastbound that was coming.

After a short wait, the eastbound hotshot appeared and I took off in a feverish attempt to get around them and be able to get to Tucumcari's Rock Island Depot to get one last shot of them. I was successful having less than 5 minutes to set up the cameras before they raced by at track speed.

After getting some lunch and gassing up, I headed east to Logan, NM which has a massive trestle spanning the Canadian River. Before long I saw my next train, a lengthy intermodal on the horizon and captured it crossing this impressive bridge, one I had seen back in the SP/SSW days, since my grandmother lived in Logan.

After catching it, I resumed my trip east toward Dalhart, capturing a westbound hotshot at a location called Middle Water between Dalhart and Romero. I missed catching another westbound as it had stalled out between the switches at Romero after losing their lead unit.

I arrived in Dalhart as I heard the inbound crew on the UP 2667 calling their outbound crew in Dalhart, I set up west of the diamond with the BNSF Dalhart Sub and captured the train as it rolled west into the sunset.

Would like to give a special thanks to my friend Drew, who gave me the symbols for all the trains seen in this video.

Thanks for watching, and ill try to have a new upload sooner than 6 months from now.
