Here is the 12" extended version of "Unbreakable (80s Mix)" that I never put out initially when I first released it back in February. šŸ¤˜šŸ¾šŸ”„ It has The Notorious B.I.G.'s verse that wasn't in the main version, as well as a longer outro with a guitar solo performed by yours truly. šŸŽøšŸŽ¹ So enjoy & make sure to download it, as it also has the main version with the cleaner vocals that appear here/on the album! šŸ™šŸ¾āœØ

The original version of ā€œUnbreakableā€ was leaked by American producer Eulonzo on February 7th, 2021. It was unknown this version existed.

Although fans are familiar with the original version that was released on the ā€œInvincibleā€ album, it has been revealed that ā€œUnbreakableā€ was originally made as far back as 1984 during the Victory sessions, although itā€™s a solo song. It was written shortly after Michael recovered from the Pepsi commercial incident, and it was recorded by himself without his brothers.

Michael was highly upset and embarrassed over the Pepsi burn and hated all of the press and media attention over it. This was the main inspiration for the song, to show the public that he was resilient and could get over anything, hence the name ā€œUnbreakableā€. Since he wasnā€™t a main part of the Victory album, he had more time to work on this song, so he began working on It more for a little over two weeks in April of 1984.

As much as he liked it, he & his brothers ultimately had to make a decision between this song, or ā€œWaitā€, which is a song from the Victory album, as both songs sounded similar and they didnā€™t want two songs that sounded similar on the same album. So they shelved ā€œUnbreakableā€, and it was left in the vault until Michael revisited it in 1999-2000 during the Invincible sessions. It evolved into the version thatā€™s on the ā€œInvincibleā€ album, which was produced by Rodney Jerkins.
