I know why you are here, you want a secure and affordable password manager., I did all the research for you, so let's find out which password manager is better - 1Password or Keeper.

-----------------------------------------------
🔒 Security

Overall, both providers excel in terms of security and safeguarding your personal information. Not only they have implemented robust encryption and offer 2-factor authentication, but they are also confirmed to be private by third party audits.

-----------------------------------------------
⭐ Generating passwords

Keeper and 1Password have absolutely no troubles here. In Keeper’s case, I can set the length of the password and the types of characters to include. The maximum character length is 100, which is way more than enough to create a strong and unique password.

Meanwhile, on top of their regular password generator, 1Password has a Smart Password Generator, which allows me to select 4 words and combine them with separators chosen from numerals and basic symbols. In addition, there’s a PIN code generator too.

-----------------------------------------------
⭐ Sharing passwords

Besides general sharing options, Keeper also has a One-Time Share. This feature gives me time-limited secure sharing of records with anyone I like as they don’t need to have a Keeper account. I can use it to share login credentials, encrypted files, and more by sending links to the recipients through various channels, including QR code scans.

Now 1Password lets me share copies of passwords and saved items with a link as well. I can set who to share with and link expiration time too. And if you’re on 1Password’s Families plan, there’s also an option to share an entire vault.

-----------------------------------------------
⭐ Autofill

Keeper’s autofill extension is called KeeperFill. It can be used along the app but is also available for installation separately. I found both versions to be working smoothly.

Unfortunately, I can’t really say the same about 1Password’s autofill feature. To sign in, first I needed to click on the 1Password icon in the username or password field, then click on the login item, and click on Search 1Password if it suggests more than one item. That’s way too many clicks for something that simple.

-----------------------------------------------
🎯 Ease of Use

Keeper offers a smoother user experience and overall dashboard design. It seems particularly well-suited for beginners. On the other hand, 1Password may appear somewhat dated, and as mentioned earlier, some daily tasks could be more time-consuming than expected.

-----------------------------------------------
Final thoughts ➡️

In the end, it really depends on your own preferences - 1Password is a great choice for families since it has customizable vaults, but it can feel a bit outdated. On the other hand, Keeper is much better designed for personal use and comes with additional features.
