Other notes: On this beautiful Saturday in April, we decided to drive two and a half hours down to Batesville, Indiana to record this super high pitched SRNB at the high school. We picked up Michael on the way, and met up with Benicio, Jeremy, and Dominic once we got here. We had a suspicion that this one was ultra high pitched as it could be heard in a few ambiance recordings of Batesville and in the background in the up close recordings of the nearest other units, and this was the last one in the system that was still unrecorded. This thing was definitely louder than an average 2001, although it wasn't quite as loud as the other two 800+ hz units I've been to. It makes sense though because this one doesn't have a building in close enough proximity to it for the sound to reverberate off of that causes a noticeable increase in volume. It does, however, throw out some sweet echoes off of the distant buildings. My orange meter did manage to hit 119.4 dBA back from where I was set up, which is pretty good. My black meter on the other hand got 115.3 from there and maxed at 117.4 at roughly 170 feet from the pole, while Connor's peaked at 118.2 dBC. Anyways, I'm pretty happy with how this video came out, and it was pretty cool getting to hear a 2001 this high pitched doing attack. After this, we all went to the nearby small town of Oldenburg to check out their Darley Model 2 and antique store, and try their local ice cream shop. Enjoy!
