Kitabi Baatein. Lallantop’s new presentation, a daily show based on books, in which we will pick one different book everyday and explain 3-4 interesting anecdotes from the book. Unlike a book review this series will intertwine anecdotes and information about the book.

In the 20th episode of #kitabibaatein, we discuss Professor Aakash Singh Rathore's newly published biography of Dr. Bimrao Ramji Ambedkar, titled 'Becoming Babasaheb: The Life and Times of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (Volume 1): Birth to Mahad (1891-1929)'.

We delve into Dr. Ambedkar’s early years, including his strained relationship with his stepmother, his struggles with poverty in London, his sleepless nights in Barauda, and how he once traveled from New York to London without even a passport. We also explore his exchange of letters with a British lady Frances, as well as his criticisms of Savarkar and his views on his spewing out 'the hell that resides in his stomach'.
