We are dependent on the Sun for everything in our lives.

Sandhyavandana is a prayer to the Lord Suryanarayana who is the source of all energy for us. The main part of the Sandhyavandana is Argya and Japa (meditation) which are based on the Gayatri Mantra.

This video is created using snippets of an upanyasa of HH 1008 Vidyamanya Teertha in which he explains the importance of Sandhyavandana in our daily lives.

Shri Vidyamanya Teertha was anointed into saidhood in 1913 by HH Vibbudhapriya Teertha of Adamaaru Matha. After his intial studies, he went to advanced studies under Satyadhaana Teertha of Uttaradhi Matha who then announced that Vidyamanya Teertha was a Gyaana Bhandara (repository of knowledge) at the young age of 27.

For the next 60 years HH Vidyamanya Teertha went around teaching scholars and became the pontiff of hitherto unknown Bhandarkeri matha.

He also moulded several peetadhipathis (head of mathas) including the famous Shri Vishwesha Teertha of Pejawar matha (who himself is known as a Muni Rathna). He is the one who asked Shri Vishwesha Teertha to create the Vidyapeetah in Bangalore and create scholars.

He was also anointed pontiff of Palimar matha in 1969 and became the only seer to head two Mathas.

In 1973 Shri Vidymanya Teertha decided to stay in Adamaru village and impart education in Dwaitha sidhhantha which he did for 10 years and created innumerable scholars.

The four gems of peetadhipathis of today Shri Vishwapriya Teertha of Adamaru Matha, Shri Vidyadeesha Teertha of Palimar Matha, Shri Sugunendra Teertha of Puthighe Matha and Shri Vidyasesha Teertha of Bhandarakeri matha were all sculpted by him.

He was known as the seer of the Century.
