This is an introduction to Ghibli Park Satsuki and Mei's House, which I visited for the first time.

In mid-July 2024, I went to Ghibli Park with my family for the first time. The weather on the day was cloudy and then rainy, so I was a little worried, but it only had occasional light rain and lasted the whole day. Ghibli Park is located within the "Expo Memorial Park", so it is very large and we were not able to see everything. Also, it was a humid day, so we walked around the park slowly so as not to push ourselves too hard. We would like to challenge the places we were unable to see this time next time.

The facilities currently open (as of July 2024) are ① "Ghibli's Big Warehouse", ② "Dondoko Forest", ③ "Mononoke Village", ④ "Witch's Valley", and ⑤ "Hill of Youth".

To get to "Satsuki and Mei's House", it is convenient to take the bus from the "Global Citizen Exchange Center" near the parking lot at the north entrance of the Expo Memorial Park, where the bus departs. We passed "Mononoke Village", "Witch's Valley", and "Ghibli's Large Warehouse" on the way, and got off at the "Dondoko Forest" stop. There is a rest area called "Dondoko-dokoro" nearby. If you continue straight, you will come to the entrance to "Dondoko-do" or "Satsuki and Mei's House". Choose which one you want to go to and show your admission ticket there. Due to time constraints, we gave up on "Dondoko-do" and decided to go to "Satsuki and Mei's House".

"Satsuki and Mei's House" is not allowed to take photos inside, but it was very enjoyable because it was faithfully reproduced from the anime. There was a kitchen and a bathroom, and kimonos and futons in the chests and closets. However, we were unable to find the stairs to the second floor, which was disappointing. In the garden, there was also a bicycle ridden by Dad, Satsuki, and Mei. The well brought back memories of how there used to be a well like this.
