The Arado Ar232 was an aircraft used in the later stages of WW2 although there was only a limited number of airframes built. It was of advanced design with a high-set tail boom to carry the horizontal tail, and also to give good ground clearance for loading and unloading the cargo hold.

The aircraft was unique in having a conventional undercarriage of two main units, one under each wing, and a nose wheel, but complimented by 20-22 (variant-dependant) small fixed wheels arranged in pairs, allowing the aircraft to better navigate taxiing on uneven ground. The main uncercarriage could be raised or lowered as required. The Ar232A was equipped with two BMW801 radial engines, and the B version with four Bramo-BMW 323 radials, the changeover necessitated by the need to focus BMW801 production for the Fw190 fighter.

One Ar232 was captured and flown to Britain and post-war it was on show at Farnborough in late 1945 along with other captured German aircraft; unfortunately, this sole example was later scrapped.
