Korea Tests The First New Generation KF-21 Fighter Jet.
South Korea has been working on the KF-21 Boramae fighter since 2001. In fact, as part of the KF-X project, it wanted to learn how to make the F-35 Lighting II, as it did with the Korean KF-16 fighter several years ago.
The new Korean fighter would most likely have been called the KF-35, and we would have seen a boring copy of Lighting II.
The US ban on technology exports complicated the development of the KF-X project.
