Thank you for watching.
This is the final episode of the Hokkaido National Railway series. The Hokkaido filming trip lasted for eight days.
Below is a description of the video from Mr. B, the filmer.

This video was filmed on the Hakodate Main Line on October 6th and 7th, 1883.
The first video was of the limited express "Hokkai" operated by Kiha 82 series, filmed between Hariusu and Zenibako.
Currently, only local trains can be seen on this section, but at that time the limited express "Hokkai", passenger express "Niseko", and freight trains also ran on it.
The video from 02:20 was filmed between Niyama and Onuma.
The video looks like a double track, but it is actually a single track in parallel, and the 51 series passenger cars pulled by the DD51 run on a line shared by both up and down trains. The line you can see on the left is commonly known as the "Fujishiro Line", which is a line exclusively for down trains (towards Sapporo) that branch off at Nanae Station towards Hakodate to ease the gradient.
In the past, outbound express trains used this line, but because they now pass through Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station (formerly Oshima-Ono Station) on the Hokkaido Shinkansen,
now only a few local trains and freight trains use this line.
The footage from 05:43 shows the direct express "Setana" from the Setana Line, which was abolished four years later.
The footage from 08:40 shows the Kiha 183 series express "Ozora" running on the Fujishiro Line, a long-distance train that runs from Hakodate to Kushiro via Sapporo.
This footage was shot in 1983 using a combination of a Victor video camera GZ-S3 and a portable VHS video deck.
