This is a video of the Ban'etsu West Line filmed on September 29, 1983.
I was able to capture a 455 series express train, an old passenger train pulled by a JNR ED77 electric locomotive.
The main shooting location was between Sekito Station and Kawageta Station, and the mountain you can see in the background is Mount Bandai.
From around 02:00, you can see a white overbridge, which is Kawageta Station, which was the starting station of the light railway Nihon Io Numajiri Railway (later renamed Bandai Express Railway), although the entire line has been abolished.
At the time of filming this video, the station building had been rebuilt and there was almost no trace of its former self.
The footage from 04:15 shows Nakayama-juku Station, which used to have a switchback, but it seems that the switchback is gone now.
This video was shot in 1983 using a Victor GZ-S3 video camera and a portable VHS video deck.
