Review of the flight to Kazan on a Nordwind Airlines flight. I bought a ticket cheaper than on a Russian Railways train on the same route two days before departure. Food and groceries near Sheremetyevo airport. Cheap restaurant near Sheremetyevo. Service on board a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

This is a classic trip report or flight review. This time I flew to Kazan with Nordwind Airlines or North Wind. I bought the ticket two days before departure, comparing it with the price in the compartment for the fastest Russian Railways train. The plane ticket turned out to be much cheaper and, most importantly, faster. I bought the ticket from my mobile phone directly on the airline’s website, paying with a MIR card.

When I arrived at Sheremetyevo airport there was still time before departure, I looked at some grocery store on Yandex Maps and the closest was the store that belongs to Aeromar. It is the supplier of in-flight catering to Aeroflot and other airlines at Sheremetyevo Airport. Next to the IL-62M monument there is a store and a small cafe. The store has a selection of drinks and a standard range of products, and a café nearby serves a variety of à la carte dishes. The menu is large, but around 3 p.m. there are only a few items left. If you want to have a snack, it is best to do it on weekdays from ten to one. After that, I left a review in Yandex Maps.

I checked in via mobile and received a mobile boarding pass with a QR code, which I added to my phone. I didn’t know if it was possible to walk along it if you weren’t flying on AK Aeroflot. It worked out and went smoothly.

I used OnPass and went to the Kandinsky Business Lounge. You had to go down into it by elevator. I did a short review of the hall and went back up to the departure area. On the platform I saw a Boeing 777 of AirChina airline, which flew in from Beijing, and a CRJ of Severstal airline, which flew in from Cherepovets. After this, boarding was announced, which was via the bus. The plane that will fly to Kazan was standing near the international terminal, although it had arrived several hours earlier from Orsk. While driving, we passed a China Southern airline A330, which flew in from Beijing Daxing Airport.

I filmed an overview of the plane, the landing process and the interior. While preparing to board, my attention was drawn to a girl who worked as an agent on the platform. The girl noticed me that I was filming her from the plane. While taxiing for takeoff, I saw an Aeroflot Airbus A350 flying to Vladivostok. On takeoff, a Severstal plane from Cherepovets landed on the adjacent runway.

After takeoff, we made a turn over Zelenograd, and over Mytishchi we headed for Kazan. During the flight we passed Nizhny Novgorod airport and Cheboksary airport. During the flight there was turbulence and many large clouds passed by. By train, this route would have taken me at least 11 hours, and by plane, the flight to Kazan took only one hour and 15 minutes.

The landing was carried out on schedule, I saw a fiery sunset, as well as an apron with the Yak-40 and Yak-42 of the Tulpar Tekhnik airline. There was also a military Il-80 and several aircraft on the grass that were definitely not going to fly anywhere. Such as Tu-154, Tu-214 Transaero and Il-62.

After getting off the plane, I boarded bus 197 and headed towards the center of Kazan. The bus was Pazik.
